《老子》“斅父”语,是古今学者校勘、注释时的一个难点.对这一词的校释,众说纷纭,莫衷一是.近读徐復老封先生大著《后读书杂志》,深感徐师学养深厚,校勘、训释有方,使我侪受益颇多.然徐著中《老子杂志》和《附录·<老子>“吾将以为教父”志疑》对“斅父”一语的校释恐并非的诂,尚须商兑.拙文就古今诸家及徐老先生校诂“斅父”(或“教父”)的有关问题,略陈陋见,并请徐老和方家指教.《老子》原本为“斅父”,并非为“教父”《老子》“斅父”一语,载该书四十二章.今据马王堆汉墓帛书《老子甲本释文·德经》,录出有关文句,以便校勘.天下之所恶,唯孤寡不崇(投),而王公以自名也.勿(物)或(员攵)(损)之[而益,益]之而(员攵)(损).故人[之所教],夕(亦)议而教人.故强良(梁)者不得死,我[将]以为学父.(《马王堆汉墓帛书老子》,文物出版社1976年3月版)帛书《老子》乙本损缺“學”字,《老子乙本释文·德经》已校补该字,校补为“学”字.今查河上公本、王弼本、景龙碑本、楼正本、张君相本、宋微宗本、吴澄本、赵孟兆页)本、明太祖本、草庐本皆作“教父”.但敦煌已本、傅奕本、范应元本,皆同帛本《老子》甲本,而作“學父”.按《老子》原本当作“斅父”,作“学(今简化为‘学’)父”者“学”则是“斅”的省写.顾欢、马叙
“Lao Tzu” and “Patricide” are a difficult point in the collation and annotation of ancient and modern scholars.There are different opinions on the interpretation of this term.
