《牡丹亭》以其“奇”在中国戏剧上显出特别的艺术魅力。有论者认为,《牡丹亭》“灵奇高妙,已到极处”。也有论者认为,《牡丹亭》之奇就奇在杜丽娘和柳梦梅都可以梦见对方,奇就奇在杜丽娘为了爱情可以死又可以生,奇就奇在柳梦梅可以高中状元与杜丽娘大团圆。这些“奇”论一语中的,是真知灼见。但是,《牡丹亭》为什么非要这样奇到极处呢?奇到极处的情节形式究竟有着怎样的思想意义呢?从精神分析的角度看,《牡丹亭》奇到极处
