约翰·弥尔顿是17世纪英国著名诗人和政论家,同时也是英国诗人中引起争论最多的人物之一,而引起争议的原因之一就是他撰文反对被教会神圣化的英国传统婚姻的某些法律和道德基础。他冒当时天下之大不韪,挑战世俗,虽收效甚微,但激发了人民对婚姻(家庭)自由的思考。他为离婚所作的辩护是他作为人文主义者重视个人天性感受、强调现世幸福的体现,是构成他自由观的一个重要成分,具有一定的现实意义。
John Milton was one of the most controversial British poets and politicians of the 17th century and one of the most controversial in the English poet, and one of the reasons for his controversy was his writing of some of the traditional English marriages marketed by the Church Legal and moral foundation. At the time, he took the world’s greatness and challenged the secular world, with little success, but inspired the people’s thinking on the freedom of marriage (family). His defense of divorce is an expression of his personal nature as a humanist and his emphasis on the happiness of the present world. It constitutes an important component of his concept of freedom and has certain realistic meanings.
