宏伟艰巨的厦门海堤工程,经过两年多的紧张施工,在全体工人、职员同志们的积极努力、厦门人民大力支援和苏联专家大公无私的帮助下,克服了各种困难,战胜了敌人无耻的破坏,终于超计划提前完成了工程建设任务,并在今天正式通车。这是全省人民的胜利,也是祖国社会主义建设中许多重大胜利中又一个胜利。我谨代表福建省人民委员会,向参加厦门海堤修建工程的职工们、工程师们致以亲切的慰问和感谢；向积极支援海堤修建的厦门人民和各级领导机关,以及帮助修建海堤的苏联专家表示敬意和感谢。
After more than two years of intense construction, the magnificent and unsmiling Xiamen seawall project, with the active efforts of all workers and staff comrades, the vigorous support of Xiamen people and the selfless help of Soviet experts, overcame all kinds of difficulties and defeated the enemy’s shameless Destruction, and finally super plan ahead of schedule to complete the construction tasks, and was officially opened today. This is the victory of the entire people in the province and another victorious in many major victories in the socialist construction of the motherland. On behalf of the Fujian Provincial People’s Committee, I would like to extend my sincere condolences and gratitude to the workers and engineers who participated in the construction of Xiamen’s seawall. To extend the support to the Xiamen people and the leading organizations at all levels that are actively supporting the development of the seawall, Soviet experts pay tribute and thanks.
