当下国人对英语学习的重视和热情显然好过以往,但拒绝学习英语的倾向仍颇有市场。拒绝学习英语(或其他外语),实在是一种文化上的闭关锁国。自晚清起,无论是民间有识之士,还是官方同文馆,开始注重外语学习,当是中国人睁眼看世界之滥觞。传统中国要与世界现代文明融汇,通语言文字是必要的前提。时至今日,英语已是这个世界各种信息的主要载体,我们既拒绝不了,也回避不了。想不看英语?那就闭上眼睛。想不听英语?那就捂上耳朵。然而,拒绝英语,无疑是拒绝交流,无疑是倾向自闭,无疑是固守愚昧。
