Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of chemotherapy-assisted radiotherapy in the treatment of cervical cancer. Methods Sixty patients with locally advanced cervical cancer diagnosed from Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University from October 2013 to October 2014 were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into observation group and control group with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group were treated with chemotherapy adjuvant radiotherapy combined with glycopyrrolate sodium. Patients in the control group were treated with radiotherapy combined with glycopyrrolate sodium to evaluate the short-term curative effect, side effects, and survival rates of 6 months and 1 year. Results The total effective rate was 86.7% in the observation group and 63.3% in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Complications in both groups were mostly proctitis and radiation cystitis. Complications in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (all P <0.05). Adverse reactions of the two groups were mainly alopecia, anemia, fever, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and gastrointestinal reactions, the differences were not statistically significant (all P> 0.05). The 6-month and 1-year survival rates were 83.3% and 76.7% in the observation group and 76.7% and 63.3% in the control group, respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Radiotherapy combined with glycopyrrolate sodium in the treatment of cervical cancer patients with poor efficacy, adverse reactions, and adjuvant chemotherapy with adjuvant chemotherapy can improve the short-term efficacy and reduce the incidence of complications.
