Hardware maker MSI has produced the K8T Master1 for AMD Athlon 64 FXCPU. The Socket 940 motherboard supports the more expensive Opteron CPUs for servers. K8T Master1 also supports the fastest Athlon FX in our Benchmark test: it scored 6107 points in 3DMark2003 and 19,650 points in 3DMark 2001. SKBN motherboards using Nforce 3 chipsets scored 6067 points and 20312 points, respectively. The K8T Master 1 motherboard won a clear advantage in the tests of “Serious SAM: SE” (186.4fps vs. 179.9fps) and “Aquamark 3” (46.2fps vs. 37.2fps). The obvious advantage is that in the Quake 3 (1024 × 768 × 32 resolution) test: MSI’s motherboard leads at 418.7fps vs 331.1fps - 26% faster than Asustek motherboards. In the “UT 2003” test, the board was slightly worse at 92.7 fps than the 94.7 fps, which was slightly worse on the Gun Metal test.
