In March 1987, the annual physical meeting of the United States was taking place. It was the most exciting event for the international physics community in the past 10 years. When the moderator enthusiastically introduced: This is a scientist from the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese people present feel extremely proud and say “it’s as exciting as taking a medal or raising a national flag at the Olympics.” Introduced Chinese scientists, is the Chinese Academy of Sciences
