According to Jane’s Defense Weekly, March 14, 2002, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has selected Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman to continue the concept study of supersonic aircraft , Part of the Quiet Supersonic Platform (QSP) program, which aims to develop a new generation of bomber with supersonic cruise quality and bass burst quality. The U.S. Air Force requires a new generation of supersonic bomber cruise speeds of Mach 2.4, a 9-tonne load, a 11,500-degree range and a maximum take-off weight of 45 tons. Compared with the B-2 and B-52, the new generation of bombers are three times their speed, almost the same range, the weapon load is half of them, but the total weight is their
