电助授粉器是参照山东省农科院蔬菜研究所的资料制成.用22.5V层积方块电池8节串联在一起,可变电压为45V,90V,135V和180V四种,外接两根导线,正极顶端为一夹子,负极顶端为一铜丝小刷.铜丝小刷由15~20根0.2毫米粗的细铜丝组成,长约4~5毫米.授粉时,将夹子夹在植株叶柄的基部,然后用铜刷蘸取已开放花朵的花粉进行花期自交授粉.在不同电压下授粉时,通过植株柱头的最大电流分别为0.06,0.13,0.23,0.6毫安.
