对于科举制度,清朝之前是一场横亘历史的改革与保守的论争,历朝历次论争最多不过废而再立,清朝末年来得分外激烈和彻底。1905年9月2日,清政府发布＂上谕＂,宣布＂自丙午（1906年）科为始,所有乡、会试一律停止。各省岁科考试亦即停止。＂科举制度在走过了1300年的历程后终于终结。科举考试兴起于隋朝,发展于唐宋,完善于明清。其主要程序是：初为院试,在府一级地方上进行,合格者称＂生员＂（秀才）。此后生员们再参加各省举行的乡试,
