解放军艺术学院的文学教育开始于1984年秋。其发端于特殊年代的特殊教学机制,却在国内首开先河,与西方“创意写作”式文学教育不谋而合。30多年间,军艺文学系在军旅文学创作人才培养的教学接力中,不但摸索走出了一条独具中国特色和我军优势的军旅作家养成之道,而且赢得了“军旅作家摇篮”的美誉,一跃而成为当代中国军事文学的一座重镇。文学系师生几代薪火相传,凝练出一种开放式、能力型、创意性,合力育人的全新的教学模式。过去,他们不拘一格,因材施教,迎着八面来风,实现教学相长,开创出“徐怀中时代”的辉煌;现在,他们力求做到知己知彼、内外兼修,注重创作实践,倡导“实战”为本,在强军逐梦的伟大实践中,开始了一场没有终点的军旅文学教育新长征。
