定州市位于河北省中部,辖9个乡、13个镇、3个城区办事处,506个行政村,总面积1274平方公里,总耕地124万亩,总人口112万。农业优势突出,农业结构调整走在全省前列;1999年农业增加值和粮、油、肉总产四项指标进入全国百强;2000年适应国内外市场需求新形势,超前谋划,主动出击,被联合国工业发展组织中国投资与技术促进处确认为国际绿色产业示范区,今年4月又被国家农业部确定为首批创建“全国无公害农产品生产示范基地市”之一,为我市新世纪培创“古、绿”两大特色,提供绿色产业支撑奠定了坚实基础。
