The successful examples of this stylistic transformation from poetry to drama are rare. This article attempts to contact Bai Juyi’s background of the Mid-Tang era to reveal the narrative complex of Bai Juyi in his works and to explain the deep reason why Bai Poem was successfully adapted into drama.
