郭森同志1909年出生于河北威县,早年参加革命,1929年加入中国共产党。抗日战争时期,他曾担任河北广宗县和巨鹿县的县委书记,领导开展抗日斗争。1949年,他带领一批南下干部来到湖南后,一直留在湖南工作,曾担任中共湖南省委组织部长和湖南省人大常委会副主任等职,为湖南的革命和建设作出了较大的贡献。
Comrade Guo Sen was born in Wei County, Hebei Province in 1909, participated in the revolution in his early years, and joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1929. During the war of resistance against Japan, he served as County Party Secretary of Guangzong County and Julu County in Hebei Province, leading the anti-Japanese struggle. In 1949, after leading a group of southbound cadres to Hunan, he remained in Hunan for a long time. He served as minister of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and deputy director of Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, and made a great contribution to the revolution and construction in Hunan contribution.
