在现蕾期和开花期对二倍体矮脚黄白菜自交、四倍体矮脚黄白莱自交和以四倍体矮脚黄白菜为母本、二倍体矮脚黄为父本杂交的白菜进行胚胎学观察。结果表明,二倍体和四倍体白莱自交的均能正常受精和进行胚胎发育,最终形成正常的种子,但四倍体白菜的受精和胚胎发育均落后于二倍体白菜;四倍体白菜和二倍体白菜杂交的受精和早期胚胎发育正常,但胚乳一般在游离核阶段发生退化,到授粉后16d,胚乳完全消失.由于胚乳过早解体,胚发育到球形原胚时发生退化,因而无法获得成熟的三倍体种子。
