The 3rd Chinese Ocean Drilling Conference, co-sponsored by the Department of Geosciences, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, held on March 19-21, 2001, was held in Tongji University (see the back cover photo). 120 experts and scholars from all over the country attended the conference. The conference scale is the largest one ever held by China Ocean Drilling Conference. The conference also invited 6 international studies.
