科技的发展与时代的进步,对当代高等教育提出了新的更高的要求:不但要培养学生具备高尚的思想道德品质和健全的人格,还应具有过硬的科学文化素质和创新实践能力。作为大学生精神文明建设的重要阵地,高校团委不仅是先进青年的群众组织,同时也是党的助手和后备军,无论是在构建和谐校园乃至构建社会主义和谐社会的进程中都始终起着至关重要的作用。新时期高校团委的根本任务是帮助当代大学生成为“有理想、有文化、有纪律、有道德”的“四有”社会主义公民,这对于深化素质教育改革发挥着积极而重要的作用。
