Objective To investigate the effect of serum apolipoprotein B (ApoB) on anxiety and depression in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus. Methods Eighty patients with hepatitis C who were treated at the monitoring sites from June 2011 to June 2015 were selected as the observation group of this study. Healthy adults who had physical examinations at the monitoring sites during the same period and all indexes were normal 80 Cases as a control group. Apo B levels in both groups were measured by immunoprecipitation and the two groups of subjects were tested using the Self-rating Anxiety and Depression Scale (SAS & SDS Mental Test). The differences of serum Apo B levels between the two groups were compared. Results The serum levels of Apo B in patients with mild, moderate and severe anxiety (0.35 ± 0.12 g / L, 0.36 ± 0.14 g / L, 0.36 ± 0.13 g / L) were significantly higher than those in the control group (0.89 ± 0.18 g / L) (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in Apo B values between the mild, moderate and severe anxiety groups (P <0.05) > 0.05). The levels of Apo B in patients with mild, moderate and severe depression were significantly lower than those in the control group (0.37 ± 0.12 g / L, 0.23 ± 0.11 g / L, 0.14 ± 0.14 g / L) Serum Apo B level was significantly lower than that in mild depression group, and serum Apo B level was significantly lower in severe degree than in moderate depression group (P <0.05). Conclusion Anxiety and depression associated with anxiety and depression in patients with chronic hepatitis C are related to the decrease of serum apolipoprotein B level. The decrease of serum apolipoprotein B level is correlated with the severity of depression and has no significant correlation with the degree of anxiety.
