“Reading broken” is a method by which the ancients read one word as another pronunciation to indicate that meaning or grammatical function has changed. The meaning of the word is a development and change. When a word leads to a new meaning or grammatical function, the ancients often read the word into another pronunciation to show the difference, which is “reading broken.” For example, “clothing” word, “said the text” is interpreted as “so shield also” is a noun, read flat voice, and “Guangyun” is not rhymed as “clothing” solution is a verb, read aloud. This is the result of “reading broken”. “Reading broken” is mainly to change the tone, so some people read “read broken” as “four different meaning”, that is, through the change of four to distinguish the meaning of meaning.
