我国四川省井盐储藏量很丰富,是内地最大的产盐中心。四川省的盐业生产已经有二千二百多年的历史了。远在公元前250年以前的战国时代,四川已经开始有了生产井盐的手工业。此後,产盐的地区不断地扩大,开凿和熬煮的技术也不断地改进。四川井盐生产技术的发展大体上可以分为两个阶段,第一个阶段是从战国时代,一直到北宋庆历年间(1041—1048)。这个阶段的盐井,是口径比较大的浅井。北宋庆历年间以後,便进入了第二个阶段,这个阶段的盐井,是口径比较小的深井。
Sichuan Province boasts abundant salt reserves and is the largest salt production center in the country. The salt production in Sichuan Province has been more than 2,200 years old. As far back as the Warring States Period 250 years before B.C., Sichuan already had a handicraft industry that produced well salt. Since then, salt-producing areas have continued to expand, and techniques for cutting and cooking have continued to improve. The development of Sichuan well salt production technology can be roughly divided into two phases. The first phase is from the Warring States Period to the Northern Song Dynasty (1041–1048). Salt wells at this stage are relatively shallow wells. After the Qing dynasty of the Northern Song Dynasty, it entered the second stage. The salt well at this stage was a deep well of relatively small diameter.
