This study aims to explore the washback effect of CET4 reform on English teaching and leing. The result of re-search shows that CET4 reform has a positive effect on teachersteaching and studentsleing, but it also causes some bad ef-fects. Based on the study, some suggestions were put forward on how to promote positive washback of CET 4.
