草石蚕(Stachys sieboldii Miq.)坎茎上刚萌发的地上茎离体茎端,在光照不足的条件下培养后,一到气温下降,日照变短,茎端上也可发生膨大而形成小块茎状。另一方面,地下茎的离体茎端,在不同时期培养以后,明显地发生生长上的差异。将刚抽芽时的地下茎茎端进行离体培养,一般不易成力正常的小植株。到了地下茎抽长以后,特别是地上部分已将开花时,地下茎离体顶端的培养非常容易成活,并且在气温下降以后,顶端很多可以发生膨大,形成小块茎。但是到了地下茎形成块茎的时期(9月上旬),如果选用未膨大的地下茎茎端,经过上述同样方式的离体培养以后,往往又表现出生长不良,而且也很少在顶端形成小块茎。
