1929年12月,毛泽东为中国共产党红军第四军第九次代表大会(即古田会议)所写的决议案中,有这样两句名言:“红军是一个执行革命的政治任务的武装集团。”“红军决不是单纯地打仗的,它除了打仗消灭敌人军事力量之外,还要负担宣传群众、组织群众、武装群众、帮助群众建立革命政权以至于建立共产党的组织等项重大的任务。”这两段话,深刻揭示了新型人民军队的根本性质和基本任务,实际上回答了要建设一支什么样的军队的问题。
In December 1929, Mao Zedong’s resolution for the Ninth Congress of the Fourth Army of the Chinese Communist Red Army, known as the Gutian Conference, contained two famous saying: “The Red Army is an armed group that performs the revolutionary political tasks. The Red Army by no means simply engaged in war. Instead of fighting to destroy the enemy’s military forces, the Red Army also shouldered the major task of propagating the masses, organizing the masses, arming the masses, helping the masses establish a revolutionary regime and establishing a communist organization . ”These two passages deeply reveal the fundamental nature and basic tasks of the new People’s Army and actually answer the question of what kind of army to build.
