After the liberation, the party and the government built a large number of residential houses to solve the housing problems of the residents of the capital. In recent years, some residential buildings have been grouped or formed into a group and equipped with an appropriate number of welfare facilities and public facilities, forming a preliminary residential neighborhood. Future residential buildings will also be constructed in the form of complete neighborhoods. Therefore, neighborhood planning becomes an important issue for urban planning and residential building layout. In order to understand the status quo of newly built neighborhoods as a reference for improving neighborhood planning in the future, we conducted investigations in November 1955 on the residential area of Beijing Million Village and the National Cotton Plant No. 1 living quarters.
