We report the experimental results on the investigation of the emission charac teristics of the XeCl laser generated plume from the Copper target in variant gas ambient. The dependence of the emission intensities on the gas pressure are strikingly different among these gases. This behavior is attributed to the difference in ionization of the employed gases.
