第13届国际档案大会组织委员会于1992年3月13日在北京正式成立并召开了第一次会议。这标志着大会的筹备工作进入了实质性工作阶段。第13届国际档案大会定于1996年在我国举行。这是我国档案事业发展史上具有重要意义的一件大事。自1950年国际档案理事会成立以来,历届国际档案大会都是在欧美国家召开的。由亚洲国家和第三世界国家举办国际档案大会,这还是第一次。我们一定要办好这次大会,为中国争光,为亚洲争光,为第三世界争光,为所有信任我们、关心我们、支持我们的同行和朋友们争光。迎接第13届国际档案大会在中国召开,最重要的任务是把我国的档案工作搞好。我们要
The 13th International Archives Congress Organizing Committee was formally established and held its first meeting in Beijing on March 13, 1992.
