鑽粒鑽进原理实际上就是一种在鑽头底面保持适量鑽粒,並在其底面对鑽粒施以垂直与冲推外力,使鑽粒对岩石产生不断的滾压与推切的双重作用,从而破坏岩石。鑽粒在破坏岩石的过程中,主要是有兩种作用力,一种是滾压破坏岩石作用力,这主要是圓整鑽粒对岩石破坏;另一种是推切破坏岩石作用力,这主要是圆整与破碎的鑽粒共同作用下产生的。如果鑽头底部圆整与破碎鑽粒持有某一比例时,它就能保証进尺曲線有較大斜率而成直線上升。
