我国地球物理探矿工作在抗日战争初期已开始有了萌芽,但在帝国主义侵略压迫和国民党反动统治下,象地质工作一样长期没有得到发展;全国解放后,特别是1952年地质部成立以后,在党中央的正确领导和苏联的无私援助下,物探(化探)工作一反过去的薄弱面貌,在很短的时期内获得了蓬勃的发展。在第一个五年计划期间,物探工作根据党中央所提出的“地质工作大发展大转变”的正确方针,加上苏联专家和匈牙利专家亲自指导帮助,采取边壮大力量、边摸索试验、边进行生产的办法,积极地争取适应地质工作发展的需要。到1957年度即第一个五年计划终结时,完成了相当大的工作量;在一定的地质矿产范围内取得了显著效果;物探队伍已具一定的规模;建立并逐步充实了物探科学研究机械;一部分物探仪器装备已开始进行生产。第一个五年计划期间物探工作所取得的这些成就,成为1958年物探工作全面大跃进的前奏和可靠的物质基础。我谨代表物探
