条斑紫菜营养细胞在一定条件下(主要是温度)可转化成单孢子,经放散、附着,再发育成新的藻体。但单个营养细胞在未形成单孢子以前,能否发育成新藻体尚未见报导。已知海带(Laminaria japonica)、凋毛藻(Griffithsia pacifica)、尾丝藻(Uronema gigae)、石莼(Ulvapertusa Kjellm),浒苔(Enteromrpha intesinalis(L.)Grer.)和若干种高等植物的营养细胞能在适当的条件下发育成新的植物体。条斑紫菜的营养细胞有无这样的发育全能性,对此,我们从1979年3月开始,反复进行了四次实验。结果表明,这种紫菜营养细胞的发育全能性是存在的。
Porphyra yezoensis cells under certain conditions (mainly temperature) can be transformed into single spores, after the release, attachment, and then developed into new algae.
