Shakespeare’s works constructed a typical male-centered society. His masculinity made him inevitably misunderstood and distorted the characters of women, which were consistent with the patriarchal attitudes toward women at that time. The shaping of the image of women is a distortion of reality, either as a vulnerable, either as a sensuality, or as a masculine woman. Women are not an entirely independent person, giving women ruthless criticism not only politically but also economically and mentally. Women are men’s appendages and suffer from fertility, and most are willingly attached to men. For a moment Shakespeare elevated women to angels and then to demons again. Drama is not completely and accurately described by women, but by the will of men.
