Over the years, in keeping with the “China threat theory,” the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence agencies have continuously released a large number of investigation reports that claim that China is now carrying out large-scale modernization of its strategic nuclear forces and upgrading a large number of its equipment. The number of nuclear warheads is constantly on the rise. This article is compiled from articles published by the Atomic Energy Scientist in May-June 2006 by Norris and Christensen, US Atomic Energy Scientists.
