Thank you for your kind introduction,T.L.I am,of course,honored to have been the HonoraryChairman of ISOC 4,and I thank the Organizing Committee for bestowing this honor on me.As youknow,I am not a card-carrying organic chemist,and one might wonder what a physical biochemistcould really contribute to this Symposium.But,as Professor Chi-Huey Wong noted during hiskeynote address,I am over the hill in my own:field.Perhaps,my colleagues at CUHK think I mightbe able to begin a second career as an organic chemist.Lest you question the seriousness of thissuggestion,my students and I have recently published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry andTetrahedron Letters！
