This article describes a new generation of “adaptive” moving target detection digital processors. The adaptive moving target detector is based on three sets of filters to deal with clutter levels of different features. The article includes the following four elements: 1) the design of the filter technology; 2) the bit-equivalent method of representing the filter coefficients; 3) the performance of some of the filters obtained; and 4) the analysis of the effect of amplitude / phase distortion.
