Narrow treatment of the external auditory canal remains a challenge, and Paparella et al. (1966) twice mentioned the importance of augmented posterior wall otorhinoplasty. Adkins et al. (1981) and Moore et al. (1984) also used the same method to treat external auditory canal stenosis. However, the former uses an ear canal transposition flap, which uses a full thickness flap of the ear canal to prevent the restenosis of the external auditory meatus again.
