The application of liquid crystal materials in the terahertz spectrum is on the rise. First of all, the latest research progress of terahertz functional devices based on liquid crystal material is introduced. Then the basic principle of terahertz spectroscopy is summarized from the experimental and theoretical perspective respectively. Finally, the future research direction in this field is prospected.
