The weight dimensions of a diesel high-pressure pump and its ability to work depend very much on the optimum structural parameters (plunger diameter, stroke and speed) for the pump element. Test results show that in order to reduce the load on the plunger moving parts, it is appropriate to use a plunger with a long stroke structure to provide a cam profile that maximizes the plunger travel speed. However, the use of long-stroke plungers to reduce the dynamic load during plunger operation is only suitable for ensuring the required jetting and working process specifications of the diesel engine.
