水平井是当今石油技术发展的新成果,水平井技术的出现,必然给地质家、测井家、油藏工程师和完井工程师提出新的问题。新近,由得克萨斯休斯顿海湾出版公司出版的石油地质与工程丛书之九——《水平井》(R.Aguilera,J.S.Artindale 等,1991年)指出:水平井不是对所有类型的储集层都适合,地质模型是确定水平井方位、进行水平井开发的主要依据。地质模型主要是指那些非均质储层地质模型。该书中概括了四种类型的非均质储层,即:
Horizontal well is a new achievement in the development of petroleum technology.
