洛克医生已经失踪三个星期了,警方到处搜寻他的线索,却没有丝毫结果。没有人能料到,此时的洛克医生,正悠闲地坐在商业大厦里看着报纸。不过他现在的身份已经不是洛克医生了,而是藏书店老板威廉·德勒。实际上,早在杀死妻子之前,他就预先以威廉·德勒的身份在商业大厦里租下了这间小店。商业大厦是一座城中城:餐馆、洗衣店、杂货店等应有尽有。所以三个星期以来,他一直没有离开这里。慢慢地,这里的人们也习惯了他的存在。
Dr. Locke has been missing for three weeks, the police search his clues everywhere, but without any result. No one can expect, at this time, Dr. Locke, leisurely sitting in a commercial building watching the newspaper. However, he is now not the identity of Doctor Locke, but the bookstore owner William Diller. In fact, long before his wife was killed, he had rented the shop in a commercial building in advance of William Diller. The Commercial Building is a Midtown city: restaurants, laundries, grocery stores and much more. So for three weeks, he has not left here. Slowly, people here are accustomed to his existence.
