作家进入书法圈,掂起毛笔写大字,似乎已成为当代文坛上一道亮丽的风景线:作家们办书展、搞笔会、开作品研讨会、出版作品集、成立作家书法家协会等等,颇引起书法、文学圈中人的注意。然而就其艺术水平看,恐怕不少人还未真正入门,更难以进入较高层次的创作阶段,尤其与民国时期大多数著名作家相比,则基本不在一个水平线上。这可以说是情理中事。因为,书法与绘画、音乐以及杂技等艺术品类一样,需要有坚实的基本功,要经过较为严格的按部就班的训练,经过长年的积累、消化、融会,方可有所成就。而当代绝大多数作家不可能有丰裕的时间从事基本功的练习和进一步的深入研究,就像一位成功的书家同时还想成为著名作家一样难而又难。然而也有例外,河南省社科院文学研究所所长、省文学院首任院长、省文艺
