我的父亲林伟1914年8月出生在福建武平县一个贫农家庭,17岁参加革命,经历了土地革命战争、二万五千里长征、抗日战争和解放战争。他从事过作战、通信、机要、测绘、政工和院校等方面工作,在总部、军区和军兵种工作过,并到军事学院学习。他大部分时间是从事通信工作,为我军通信事业的发展付出大量心血,作出重要贡献,曾荣立两大功。新中国成立不久,他作为军队代表列席了第一届全国政协会议,亲耳聆听了毛泽东主席致的开幕词。他还当选为北京市第一、第二届人民代表。1955年被授予少将军衔,荣获二级八一勋章、二级独立自由勋章、一级解放勋章。他是政协第五届全国委员会委员,曾任中国人民解放军通信兵部副主任,1979年1月因病逝世。
My father Lin Wei was born in August 1914 in a poor peasant family in Wuping County, Fujian Province. He joined the revolution at the age of 17 and underwent the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the Long March 25,000, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation. He has engaged in operations, communications, confiscation, surveying and mapping, political work, and academy work. He has worked in headquarters, the military region and the military and has studied at military academies. He spent most of his time engaged in communications and devoted a great deal of effort and made significant contributions to the development of the cause of communications in our military. He has won two major contributions. Shortly after the founding of new China, he attended the first session of the CPPCC National Committee as a military representative and personally listened to the opening speech made by Chairman Mao Zedong. He was also elected as the first and second people’s deputies in Beijing. In 1955 was awarded the rank of major general, won the two eight one medal, two independent Medal of freedom, a liberation medal. He is a member of the Fifth National Committee of the CPPCC and was the deputy director of the Communications Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. He died of illness in January 1979.
