我参加革命后演过几个戏,如:“反翻把斗争”中的马奎武,“从秋天到春天”里的中农.那时是不知道怎样进行创造的,只知道看剧本中的人物是不是我所见过的,并且拿真人去和所扮演的角色对照,看是不是他,如果是,就按着他是怎么生活的去演;如果不是或者没有见过,就认为剧本写的不够真实,在创造上也就没有办法了.排起戏来在台上走地位真好像又回到了农村一样,真像实生活中似地可以自由地在台上走动.人物也能随便加动作.那时我就是这样进行创造的.
