东方汇理银行创办于1875年,1899年在上海设立分行,一直营业到1955年,是一家在华时间较长的外资银行。该行在中国拥有发行货币的权利,史料记载曾发行过四种面额的上海地名券,但长期未见实物,目前银行博物馆馆藏的上海地名拾元券,是国内仅见的该行上海地名纸币。法国东方汇理银行(Banque de I’Indo-chine)创办于1875年,是由法国的社会实业银行、巴黎荷兰银行和巴黎商业银行等联合投资组建。成立的目的是取代已结业的法兰西银行在亚洲及印度支那的银行业务。该行总行设于法国巴黎,分支机构遍布于印度支那半岛各大中城市,成为法国经营印度支那的金融机关。
Calyon Bank was founded in 1875, 1899 set up a branch in Shanghai, has been operating until 1955, is a longer time in China, foreign banks. The bank has the right to issue currency in China. The historical records contain four denominations of Shanghai place coupons. However, it has not been seen for a long time in the world. Banque de I’Indo-chine, founded in 1875, is a joint venture between Société Générale de France, ABN AMRO and Paris Mercantile. Its purpose was to replace the already completed banking operations of the Bank of France in Asia and Indochina. Headquartered in Paris, France, the bank has branches in all major Mid-Indochina cities and became the French financial institution that operates Indochina.
