一、引言 1.3μm和1.55μm的InGaAsP/InP DH激光器是长距离、大容量光纤通信系统最有希望的光源,因为在这两个波长下石英光纤的传输损耗和材料色散最低。随着陆地长途和海底电缆实用化传输系统的进展,对激光器的长寿命和高可靠性能要求日益提高。近年来围绕InGaAsP/InP激光器的退化方式、应力影响、失效机理等方面开展了某些研究工作。初步的研究结果已经证实InGaAsP/InP DH激光器与GaAlAs/GaAs激光器相比,在长寿命器件性能方面具有更大的潜力。 I. Introduction 1.3μm and 1.55μm InGaAsP / InP DH lasers are the most promising light sources for long-haul, high-capacity optical fiber communication systems because they offer the lowest transmission loss and material dispersion at these two wavelengths. With advances in terrestrial and submarine cable utility transmission systems, there is an increasing demand for long life and high reliability of lasers. In recent years, some researches have been carried out on the aspects of degradation, stress effects and failure mechanism of InGaAsP / InP lasers. Preliminary results have confirmed that InGaAsP / InP DH lasers have greater potential for long-life device performance than GaAlAs / GaAs lasers.
