The application of fractal theory in abrasive image processing is discussed. The Sierpinski fractal dimension was first introduced into the quantitative analysis of abrasive images. Sierpinski fractal dimension analysis of the abrasive grain images obtained from the experiment shows that the size of the Sierpinski fractal dimension of the grain image is related to the grain size distribution and the degree of abrasive grain overlap. The Sierpinski fractal dimension of the abrasive image can be used to extract the features of abrasive images
