枫木镇地处屯昌县西南部,距县城22公里。1950年代,枫木就有“无户不种,少量自给”的苦瓜种植热情;1980年代,随着市场经济的发展,枫木兴起了苦瓜销售的热潮;1990年代,种植户开始商业化栽培苦瓜。2015年,枫木镇被列入海南省第一批百个特色产业小镇,定位是以发展农业、农副产品加工运输和旅游服务业为主的绿色产业型、商贸集散型小城镇。2016年4月12日,枫木镇成功举办了首届苦瓜文化节。此次文化节是全国首次以苦瓜为主题的
