改革开放以来,随着国民经济的高速发展,消费者的“菜篮子”发生了很大变化,显而易见的一个特征就是:人均粮食消费比例下降38%,人均肉类消费比例上升59%,且白肉所占消费比例增加了267%,很大程度上影响了畜牧业生产结构和畜产品的市场价格。鸡肉是我国最主要的肉类消费品之一,在改善膳食结构、增强国民健康水平和提高生活幸福指数等方面做出了巨大贡献,其价格变动对于养殖户和城乡居民来说具有较大影响。
