根据低氧与高CO_2对果实呼吸的抑制作用而创造的气调方法是果蔬贮藏的先进技术,已在多种果蔬的贮藏上收到巨大的经济效益。但气调在柑桔果实贮藏上的应用,至今仍处在探索阶段,有人认为柑桔果实是不适于或不能采用气调方法贮藏的,由此可见柑桔果实的气调贮藏,难度是比较大的。
