It has long been known that “air, water and geology” are directly linked to human health and that environmental impacts are used to explain some of the noncommunicable epidemic. People attach great importance to the geochemical environment, because many trace elements are important to participate in or interfere with mammalian metabolism. Unfortunately, it is not easy to determine the relationship between environmental geochemistry and human health. However, the dental epidemiology provides the strongest evidence that microelements can affect the health of people. Dental diseases that are suitable for this research are dental caries. The disease is prevalent in many countries and often has a large population available for research.
