Generally, Chinese scholars think that Germany’s thoroughness in the history of World War II is thorough and without any remnants, but in fact the Germans’ introspection is not as simple as it is done in one go. When the German reunification occurred 26 years ago, probably not many people expected the East and West to make a clear distinction when it came to looking at the Hitler Third Reich. Since the mid-1980s, West Germany (Federal Republic of Germany) has been recognized throughout the world as a country that successfully confronted the history of the Third Reich.
